Tool of the week
The tool is the easy part. The rule is the job.
One tool a week you can try tonight.
Each one in the same order: the moment, what it costs you, the one-sentence rule you write before you touch anything, then the five-minute version with the prompt. No hype, nothing to install.
breaks “I need a developer for that.”
Every attachment, filed
Call it thirty seconds each. Twenty minutes a day, a hundred minutes a week, and the one time it is filed under the wrong job is the time the estimator needs it.
The five-minute version
breaks “If I touch it I’ll break it.”
Invoices without typing
Three minutes each at best. Fifty invoices a week is two and a half hours of typing numbers that are already typed. And the duplicate, the one that got emailed twice, gets paid twice about once a quarter.
The five-minute version
Next week’s tool, by email.
Thursdays. The rule, the prompt and the steps, in one short email. Say which pile is yours and the next tool gets built for the pile most people name.
